We offer safe shiping via Northwest and American Airlines, out of
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA airport. We ship counter to counter only, no
cargo.
Many people are concerned with flying their pup. I would not do it if it
harmed them in any way and that includes mentally. They are safe in
their crate, warm and happy. They are flown in a pressurized cabin,
always or they would never survive the trip. Dogs are not people and they
do not worry abstractly as we do. He or she will be fine. I promise.
Counter to counter also means they are not housed in some shed outside
waiting to get on the plane. They are in the airport, until they are hand
loaded on the plane.
The airlines place strict temperature controls, even when shipping via
counter to counter. I cannot fly a pup on any day where the
temperature is not 10F (Northwest) or 20F (American, our preferred
carrier) or if it is more than 74 F, for both. They will not allow any snub
nosed dog on unless the temperatures are in that range! NO
EXCEPTIONS. Regular faced breeds can fly up to 85, but that does not
apply here. These rules are in force for the good of the pup. I cannot
control the airlines or the weather. Iowa gets very cold in the winter and
it gets very hot in the summer. These temperatures are not only for
departure, but also any connecting flights and the final destination.
We can book Northwest flights. We cannot book American, it is walk on
only. Which means we will go to airport, stand in line and get that pup
on a flight. CID is a small airport and they will only accept (both
Northwest and AA) 1-2 Live Animals per flight. All flights connect
elsewhere and again, the temps must be in the safe zone, as stated above.
The airport is more than an hour away from us. We need time to prepare
and get there to fly your pup. If we have to travel to another airport to
serve your needs, there will be an extra fee. Again, we fly out of Cedar
Rapid, IA on either American or Northwest. Please understand that we
do all that is humanly possible to get your pup to you as soon as possible.
We know you want him or her yesterday!
Shipping ranges from 300-500 and depends on the size of kennel. We
expect all shipping charges to be paid before we will ship any pup. Your
pup must also be paid for in full before we will ship him or her to you.
This price includes the airline approved crate, which is yours to keep. It
also includes the mandatory state health certificate, issued by my vet.
This vet check will be the last vet check your pup gets here. On the crate,
on the back bottom will be an envelope with your pup's shot record and
your copy of our guarantee. This is the only shot record you will get.
We will need name, address and telephone number of the person picking
up. Whose name we book the flight in, MUST claim the pup. We can ship
in two names, as long as the addresses match. You may be required to
show your ID at airport to claim your pup.
For those of you close enough to drive, we live outside of Chelsea, Iowa.
We can and will meet people at a reasonable distance. Or, you are more
than welcome to fly into Cedar Rapids, Iowa airport (CID) and pick your
pup up and fly back with him or her in the cabin with you. We will
gladly meet you at the airport. There are no temperature restrictions if
you do this. It can -100F or 110F, does not matter.
GROUND TRANSPORT- Often in the summer, the only way we can get
your pooch to you is via ground transport. I am very lucky that we have
one of the best around right here in Iowa. With this option, we can get
your pup comfortably and safely to you anywhere in the lower 48! The
vehicle has A/C, they take excellent care of the pups in transit. To visit

We have far more issues in the summer than the winter. Even when it
gets cold here, it will warm enough to be able to ship your pup. We all
need to be patient.
There are times when the temperatures are iffy or the flight is
overloaded. In these cases, the airlines, whether we have booked or not,
will turn us around and tell us to go home. This does not happen very
often and if it does, we can usually get on a later flight. However, again I
cannot control weather or the airlines so you will need to be flexible and
patient.
If we are shipping your pup, we will expect the shipping to be paid along
with the balance within 3 business days of his/her passing last vet check
and being cleared to fly. We kindly ask that you do not delay this
payment to us. If you chose to not pay shipping, in a timely manner (3
business days) your pup can and probably will be sold to another and
you will forfeit your deposit! Or we will begin to charge boarding fees.
Once again, no pup will be shipped without being paid in full, including
payment for shipping.
By purchasing a pup from us, you agree to the above terms. Again, we
will do everything humanly possible to get your pup to you ASAP. Again,
you are more than welcome to fly in and pick your pup up. We will
refund shipping in this case.
